Guest Acting Coach Ross MacKenzie
Ross MacKenzie who began his training in London 30 years ago has taught at Lee Strasberg in New York City, the Stella Adler School and the Theatre of Arts in Hollywood plus several acting schools in Osaka, Japan.
He formed the bilingual theatre group: "Global Fusion" in 1993 in Kobe, Japan, performing nine plays in Japanese and English both in Japan and Hollywood.
Mr. MacKenzie teaches his own style of acting derived from the Stanislavsky system, Uta Hagen, Michael Chekhov and Stella Adler. His main focus is on the physical action of the characrtor; which takes the actor's (beginner or advanced) concentration of himself, and puts it on the task at hand, his objective, by staying on the objective the actor looses any shyness or "stage freight" he or she might have and is able to express his charactor truthfully whether it be on the stage, in front of the camera or at an audition.
Ross teaches in both English and Japanese. His upcoming bilingual production " A Dolls House" can be seen in Los Angeles in the early fall.
